63. Start a Journal

journal

Keeping a journal is a great way to document your thoughts, feelings, an events from a given day. At around 4 years of age I introduce the journal idea to my children on our travel adventures. It is a great ‘down time’ activity and helps them to process the activities and sights they have participated in or seen on our journey and hopefully commit them to their long term memory.

Journalling doesn’t need to be expensive. Our journal kit contains: 1 A5 sketch book; pencils, textas and grey lead; glue stick; stickers. We collect brochures and postcards on our travels that we glue in, but largely the focus is to write a sentence or two and complete a sketch to illustrate the adventure.
