“Does it sink or float?” is a fun game you can play anytime. It’s an activity you can pull out of your parenting toolkit anytime, especially if the kids are experiencing a little cabin fever.
This game requires little more than a bucket for collecting items to ‘test’ and a shallow tray or bucket with an inch or two of water.
Armed with their bucket, your little ones can roam your backyard and collect items they think might float or sink.
The fun really starts when you ‘test’ the theory. Ask your child to remove one of their collected items. Study it with them and let them know they can put it in the water shortly, but firstly, do they think it will float or sink? Test your theory and try with each item.
