Let’s go fly a kite…..
Flight is something that intrigues us all. Flying a kite can be quite exhilarating. While it does require wind and some strategic positioning to ensure the kite actually flies, when it does one can’t help but smile.
Acquiring a kite is simple: either buy one or make one. Need some inspiration? Here are four easy (well….they appear to be) tutorials to get you started.
The next thing you need is the right place to fly your kite. Indeed you do require wind but it does need to be the ‘right’ type. We made the horrid mistake of trying to fly our kite near the bike track at St Peters. The wind roaring over the hill blew all attempts straight into the ground. However, success was found at Cronulla just near the kids playground in the Don Lucas Reserve (behind Wanda Beach).
