When I was a child, most kids learned to tie their shoes in the first year or so of school – often younger. The average age was 4. I have noticed that this has changed quite rapidly here in Australia. Next time you are in a shoe shop, have a look around. Laces have disappeared in many of the ranges for kids under 7. When I visit schools I notice that most students from grade 3 and below are wearing velcro shoes.
After working through the steps with Miss 5 regularly over the last few weeks she has persisted in learning this skill and mastered it this very weekend. To celebrate she asked to create her own tutorial video. Enjoy!
Too clever. Well done, what a clever kid.
Thank you! She is really proud of herself even wearing her shoes AFTER she changed into her pyjamas.
