I’m often asked how we manage to do so much travel, both locally and further, with our two kids. How do we manage to take them to restaurants with ease and how is it that car travel seems to be a fairly breezy experience.
My overarching tip is to slow down. It took me some time to realise that the days of packing a dawn to dusk adventure over a large radius were behind us for now. In Italy, T and I rose early and by foot explored kilometres of each city. One example is a day in Rome where we visited the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, La Bocca della Verità and numerous chapels before heading off to a soccer match. With two kids under 8 this would not be possible. I initially found this frustrating but have now realised that this gives us time to really soak up the atmosphere and commit to memory the things we see and learn.
Whilst I don’t believe we have the secret to making travelling with kids hassle free, I thought I could share some of my tops tips to trouble free travel. I will add to these tips over time 🙂 Click the image you want to read about below.
