A Mums Say Invite : Tinkerbell and the Legend of the NeverBeast

A couple of weeks ago I received an invitation email from the lovely team at Kidspot’s Mums Say to attend the upcoming premiere event of Tinkerbell and the Legend of the NeverBeast. Of course I had to apply and I sent my application straight back and crossed my fingers that we would be selected to attend. The email arrived a few days later.

Early Sunday morning I woke to Miss N prodding me in the back as she whispered “it’s Tinkerbell day mummy. Wake up!“. We had laid her clothes out the day before and selected her favourite toy animal to take along too. With soccer cancelled, T decided to come along with Master R too. The movie was screening at the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park which would provide a great excuse for them both to fit in some bowling while Miss N and I watched the movie.

We arrived early and found our way to the top floor where we met the KidSpot team. With barely contained excitement we had our images taken and were provided with popcorn and drinks before finding our way to our chair. The movie started shortly afterwards.

Now Miss N is already a massive fan of Tinkerbell. She has watched all the previous movies, has the app on her iPad, the costume in her wardrobe and even searched everywhere for her when we visited Disneyland over Christmas. I knew she would love the film but I wasn’t prepared for the emotional reaction she had to this new addition to the franchise. We both held back tears at the end, aware that we had to talk to the others attending afterwards.

To give you a little glimpse into the movie, Tinkerbell actually takes a back seat in this movie with animal loving Fawn taking centre stage and revealing that you can’t always judge a book by its cover. The NeverBeast can be scary and Miss N needed to grip my hand at times. Overall she gave it 100 out of 10 (I did try to explain that she needed to choose a number between 1 and 10).

After the movie, we were treated to colouring, balloon shapes, face painting and the opportunity to provide a video review. Of course, Miss N was keen to go on camera but froze when it actually came to the filming, but it was an experience!

Whilst I was invited to attend this event as a guest of KidSpot I was under no obligation to write about it here on my blog.
