Movie Night: Ice Age Collision Course

Movie Night: Ice Age Collision Course

Living in the same suburb as our extended family has allowed Friday night catch ups to become a weekly feature on our calendar. It is an opportunity for the kids to get together with three of their cousins (when their powers combine, they are the Adventurous Five!) and hang out. Sometimes we grab a movie. We almost always share a meal together. Last week, thanks to Fox, we hosted a Ice Age Stay at home party to celebrate the release of Ice Age Collision Course.

The Ice Age movies have become one of our favourite franchises. We have grown to love each character and always look forward to the release of the next movie. We can even boast a trip to the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, USA where we discovered that each animal represented in the original movie has been unearthed. We couldn’t wait to start watching.

Part of the whole party experience is food. On this occasion I made Manny’s meatballs (I added a little mustard to add flavour) and Diego’s Dipping Dish for our main course. Of course, hot popcorn (straight from the microwave) followed halfway through the movie! Click to download your our Ice Age recipe cards here.

So let’s talk about the movie. If you’re familiar with the Ice Age movies you will feel as if you are reuniting with long lost friends within the first few minutes. All your favourites are back: Manny, Sid, Diego and Scrat along with their families and extended friendship group. The movie starts with Scrat trying to catch and bury his acorn which sees him unwittingly sending a number of asteroids straight to Earth. Of course Manny and the crew now need to survive the impact and somehow save the world while they’re at it.

For me Ice Age Collision Course was the same old and I fell asleep, but the kids giggled and laughed the whole way through the entire movie. Sunshine even asked if she could watch it again the next morning! So a big thumbs up from the kids.

Ice Age Collision Course is out now on Digital HD via iTunes or you can purchase it on Blu-ray & DVD.  We were gifted the movie and ingredients for our meatballs from the team at Fox. Of course, all opinions are our own.

And here is your own printable puzzle!
