Riding in a Monster Truck is certain to be a Bucket List item for someone in your family. The very idea of driving straight over a terrain that typically stops other vehicles provides an interesting wave of excitement when you think about it. When I heard that there was a Monster Truck on the South Coast of NSW that takes passengers straight up to the summit of Mt Coolangatta I wanted to go. So on a late Saturday night, I mentioned Bishops Bigfoot Adventures NSW to T and on Sunday morning we woke up early and headed down.

To take a ride on Bigfoot you will need to head to Coolangatta Estate, a winery around 10 minutes from Berry, NSW. It’s a historic site in its own right with the village dating back to to 1822 and the perfect place to start and finish. After boarding the Bigfoot, our driver provided us with a safety briefing and we were off.
The hour long tour takes you around different parts of the property where you learn a little about the history of Berry and Coolangatta Estate before taking you straight up the 1000 ft elevation that is Mount Coolangatta. It’s bumpy at times, throwing you from side to side (remember to wear your seatbelt). Actually, we lurched to the side at an angle that almost allowed us to reach out the window and touch the ground. The climb is almost vertical for much of the way up and then down. My gosh, what a rush!
When we returned we were just in time for lunch at the Firegrill Marquee which is only metres from the Bigfoot’s parking space. A great place for steak or ribs or even a chicken burger!
Bishops Bigfoot Adventures will allow the while family to experience a true Monster Truck experience as you climb over some of the steepest natural terrains imagined whilst seated safely inside. I think you should go and try it for yourself!

Mandy, it was an amazing day. I would love to hear what you think after your visit.
What a beast; looks like lots of fun. They had a similar one over here in WA at Lancelin, but it was in a bad accident and no longer operates. I shall add this to the list!
