Alison Lester is an incredible Australian author and illustrator, having become a favourite of mine since I was little too. She herself grew up in South Gippsland which has been the inspiration for such delights as My Farm, Magic Beach and The Quicksand Pony. Nearby, Waratah Bay is home to Noni the Pony.
