It is fast becoming THE second language for students to learn with predictions that it will be the language skill business seek in prospective employees as the newest generation leaves high school. I am talking about Computer Coding – the language of Computer Science.
From 7-13 December students all around the world (including my kids at home and students at my school) will be participating in the Hour of Code which is touted to be the largest learning event in history. Your wondering what that actually means, right? The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science for anyone aged between 4 through to 104 where they can learn the basics. It is free, online, accessible from any platform and available at anytime throughout the week. Most excitedly, Mojang and Disney have jumped on board this year with Minecraft Hour of Code, Star Wars Hour of Code and Frozen Hour of Code offered in the tutorial suite. Over the space of one hour, participants are guided through the tutorial.
