If you have a Harry Potter fan in the house then you are going to love the latest arrival to Sydney: Quizzic Alley. A visit to this Harry Potter shop right here in Australia (they do have one in Canberra too) is almost like visiting Diagon Alley itself with a bounty of HP merchandise ripe for the picking.

Where is Quizzic Alley in Sydney?
Brought to Sydney by Penni and Michael Milton (please refer to them as Professor Penelope Presto and Nearly Legless Mick when in-store), Quizzic Alley has taken over the historic 1928 original Bank of New South Wales building in Drummoyne on Victoria Road. With parking around the back (we found a space super easy) it’s easy to find and access.
What Can I Find Inside Quizzic Alley?
Quizzic Alley is dedicated to the world of Harry Potter. It boasts the largest range of Harry Potter merchandise in Australia, with many finds that we never knew existed. The kids (or even you!) can try on a range of wizarding cloaks, find the perfect wand, or buy a chocolate frog! Explore well and you may even uncover a golden snitch.
While Sydney’s Quizzic Alley does not feature a real Ford Anglia like the Canberra store, you will find a few little surprises. Housed in an old bank, it will be no surprise to find yourself transported to Gringotts, the safest place in the wizarding world, when you enter one of the old vaults at the back of the room. I am sure more is to come as the store matures.
Let’s Talk about Butterbeer
True Potterheads will know all about butterbeer, a butterscotch tasting drink (often with a slight alcoholic content) that the students Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are known to procure when visiting Hogsmeade. When we visited Universal Studios Japan it became our favourite go to drink (preferred cold, not warm).
Obviously, the choice drink of all the best wizards and witches, when we discovered that Quizzic Alley had QBrew on tap (their take on the drink) we knew that a visit would include a tasting. Qbrew is similar (I won’t say the same) as the butterbeer that we lapped up in Japan but with a difference. Here at Quizzic Alley it comes with a generous topping of whipped cream – yum!
Make sure you also grab some Bertie Bots, Jelly Slugs or a chocolate frog as a sweet treat.
The Sorting Hat
Have you ever wondered what house you really belong to: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin? Well, you can find out in-store. If you are at home, you can play along too by heading to the official Wizarding World.
I always thought I was suited to Gryffindor, but every single time I do the test I end up in Ravenclaw which I have now come to terms with, after all, Ravenclaw attributes are intelligence, learning, wisdom and wit, not mention competitive by nature which is me! What house do you belong to?
