Liverpool Catholic Club Ice Rink

We learned about the Liverpool Catholic Club Ice Rink when we were invited to celebrate a birthday there on the ice. The rink itself is a good size and I was impressed to find a heated viewing area for parents who aren’t keen to freeze their butts off down on the ice! Like many of the other rinks, this one also offers Learn to Skate classes with accredited coaches.

The LCC Ice rink offers families school holiday programs, group lessons, private lessons, inclusive lessons and more.

Still can’t believe it’s there!

pssst…I have also been told that they have a snow play area where the kids can build snowmen. I’m keen to check it out!

What to Plan When Ice Skating In Sydney

Ice skating in Sydney with kids isn’t cheap. You will need to decide before going if you will be joining the kids on the ice, wear appropriate clothing to wear and the session times to join.

What to Wear Ice Skating

Initially, kids find the ice skating rink cold but as they start skating they will warm up. Layering clothing is highly recommended so that layers can be removed as the temperature rises with the activity. Long pants and thick socks are a must.

If your child is just starting learning to skate, gloves may be helpful to keep their hands warm as generally, the first few skates result in a few falls, It is wise to pack a change of clothes too.

Research the Session Times

Sydney ice skating rinks offer a variety of ways to access their rinks: casual skating, lessons, and club skating. To accommodate each group of skaters, most of the rinks in Sydney provide a number of different sessions each day that is designated to each group. The public or casual skating sessions typically last for 2 – 3 hours.

It is wise to check the sessions, which change depending on school term or holidays, to see the availability. There is nothing worse than arriving and discovering the sessions have finished for the day or are resuming in three hours.
